ㅤ bloodlustㅤ ㅤ following her resurrection, she was hit with an intense urge to kill, leading to instances of aggression & violence. this became solely a psychological challenge after john constantine restored her soul; refraining from killing no longer impacted her physical health.ㅤ guilt / regretㅤ ㅤ sara often carries a heavy burden of guilt & regret for her past actions, particularly during her time with the League. TOWARDS THE END OF 2007, oliver turned his affections towards sara, reconsidering his decision to move in with laurel. intrigued by the attention from her long-time interest— & motivated by a desire to retaliate against laurel for what happened at tommy's party — sara engaged in a secret relationship with him. in OCTOBER 2007, sara came back from college to visit her family for a long weekend. during this time, she was secretly texting oliver, who had extended an invitation to her for the queen's gambit journey.

prior to settling on her choice, she cautioned laurel about committing to oliver, hinting that his reputation suggested he wasn't as ready for the type of commitment that she was looking for. laurel interpreted sara's warning as spiteful, which ultimately convinced her to accept oliver's invitation. on the day of her departure her mom returned home early & discovered her packing. despite initial objections, sara's declaration of love for oliver & her insistence on following her heart persuaded her mom to agree & keep their conversation confidential.

oct 2007 - dec 2007

sara, oliver, & robert embark on a trip aboard the queen's gambit. the ship meets its doom due to the undertaking, resulting in robert's eventual death & the separation of sara & oliver.
the undertaking is a strategy implemented by tempest — a secretive faction led by malcolm merlyn. tempest's objective was to maintain the prosperity of starling city & eradicate the crime plaguing the glades.
robert queen, once an ally of tempest, became a target after he challenged the ethical implications of the undertaking to malcolm. as a result, malcolm coerced someone to plant c2 explosives aboard the ship, using the category two hurricane the ship had sailed into to cover it up.
sara finds herself stranded in the middle of the east china sea. Several days later she's discovered by a ship named the Amazo, which welcomed her on board.
It's in this mysterious setting that she meets dr. Anthony Ivo, who claims he can save all of mankind. Captivated & seeing no alternative, she allies with him in his quest for mirakuru ( a serum developed by the Japanese during World War II which could increase muscle strength, heighten senses, & regenerate cells ).

2008 - 2009

throughout the upcoming year, ivo shielded sara from the crew of his ship while instructing her in the arts of biology, chemistry, & technology. in exchange, she aided his endeavors & engaged in the torture of his captives through his experiments, motivated only by the fear of becoming his next victim.
she reunites with oliver after he's captured by ivo's men & attempts to safeguard him — advising him to hide his true identity — before turning hostile & kicking him. she eventually saves him by proposing they keep him alive to locate the gravesite.
Sara accompanied Oliver, Ivo, & the crew of the Amazo as they journeyed toward the site of the crashed plane where Oliver & his friends had taken refuge. sara watched on as Ivo commanded his men to ransack the area, following oliver's frantic warning for Slade & Shado to run. Discovering the place deserted, Ivo planted a bomb in the plane & demanded he lead them to the gravesite.
once they reached the gravesite the guards interrogated Oliver about the hōzen, an arrowhead that was supposed to be buried with the bodies. Suddenly, Shado & Slade ambushed them, demanding Oliver's release. When Ivo complied, Oliver seized the opportunity to punch ivo & make a dash for escape with Sara in tow.
it's later revealed that shado has the hōzen with the coordinates of the submarine on it, prompting them to seek it out, with ivo & his crew in pursuit.
after finding the submarine, oliver injects Slade with the mirakuru, even after Sara told him that Slade would likely not survive it without a sedative. Slade began to react badly & eventually turned quiet. Before they could begin to mourn, Ivo & his men barged in, taking the three of them captive.
in a surge of anger, ivo confronts oliver with a choice on who he'd like to sacrifice: sara or shado. oliver's hesitation leads ivo to escalate the threat, proposing to kill both if a decision isn't made. faced with ivo's increased impatience & his gun pointed at sara, oliver intervenes, which ivo interprets as a decision & turns to kill shado instead.

Slade, now fueled by Mirakuru, arrives & discovers Shado's lifeless body. Consumed by rage, he swiftly executed Ivo's men & seized the remaining Mirakuru. When Slade demanded to know who was responsible for Shado's death, Sara promptly interjected, falsely claiming that Ivo cruelly shot Shado without reason.
the following morning, they prepared for battle. oliver deliberately allowed himself to be captured, while sara & slade surveilled from an elevated position on the island. observing ivo's men clear the deck, they jumped from the cliff using a makeshift parachute, landed on the top deck, & set about freeing the prisoners.
quickly realizing the battle had been lost, sara, oliver, & a handful of captives jumped ship & swam to shore; oliver was captured by slade at the last minute.
sara took the captives to a previous base where slade contacted her, claiming the ship had a broken engine. in exchange for hendrick, a engineer, he'd return oliver. sara lied about hendrick not making it, which slade challenged, giving her an hour to comply. despite the risk, they planned to exploit the exchange to kill slade, with anatoly concealing explosives on hendrick prior to their departure.
slade discovered the explosives but decided that a quick death death was too good for them — they were to live on lian yu until their deaths. he then injected several captives with the mirakuru, curious about what would happen if it failed. amidst the chaos, oliver grabbed an arrow, killed the remainder of slade's men, & stole the remaining mirakuru; slade managed to capture sara & held her captive on the amazon. it wasn't long after that she would be rescued by oliver. Despite his insistence she run, she stubbornly refused to leave without him.
Amidst the chaos, Anatoly launched another torpedo at the Amazo, causing it to flood. In a desperate bid to seize the Mirakuru, Slade attempted to snatch it, but Oliver managed to grab it first. he retaliated by hurling Sara into the hole blown into the ship.
she miraculously survived the sinking of the Amazo & eventually reached the shore of the island. Unable to locate any sign of Oliver or Slade, she believed them both to be dead.

2010 - jan 2014

over the next few days, she aimlessly roams the island, overwhelmed by fatigue, hunger, & a dwindling desire to survive. it's during this time that nyssa al ghul finds her, provides care, & offers shelter.
it's here she's introduced to the league of assassins, a secret organization of highly trained assassins tasked with hunting down & killing people deemed a danger to society & the world. she's then presented to ra's al ghul, who's to decide her destiny.
TRAINING. every member of the league undergoes a rigorous & demanding training regimen that results in either their death or their attainment of peak human physical fitness, to such an extent that they seldom experience pain. this training includes mastery in hand-to-hand combat, navigating dreams, stealth tactics, manipulating reality, creating portals, & assassination techniques that range from the swift & unnoticeable to the excruciating & prolonged. furthermore, they are taught how to escape any prison or trap.
CODE OF HONOR. the league adheres to a strict code of honor, & violators are pursued & eliminated. less experienced members are sent after a target, escalating to more adept fighters if their attempts fail. membership is lifelong, with death or rare exoneration as the only exits. to date, only two individuals, sara & malcolm, have been absolved from their vows.
she then spends three years within the confines of the league's bunker, a vast underground complex hidden within nanda parbat, serving ra's, falling in love with nyssa, & deliberately distancing herself from her family in starling.

✽ IMPORTANT. in late 2012, she began to hear reports of the starling city vigilante, recognizable by his green hood. she instantly recognized shado's hood & knew the hood was oliver.

jan 2014 - oct 2014

following the devastating events of the Undertaking, Sara left Nanda Parbat with intentions to visit her family. upon arriving home, she found herself unable to leave, lingering in the shadows, reluctant to rejoin the League. embracing her newfound role, Sara assumed the mantle of a vigilante ( the canary ), primarily targeting anyone who preyed upon women.
after a few run ins with the hood ( & after he realized she was tailing laurel ), he traced her to the vicinity of Laurel's apartment building only to discover that it was Sara & that she was still alive.
Later that evening, she followed Oliver to Verdant, where he admitted to keeping her existence from her family. Their conversation was interrupted by her father's arrival, prompting her to listen as he confided in Oliver about Laurel's struggles with depression & alcoholism following Tommy Merlyn's demise.
after oliver had convinced her to come home, she took up residence at the Queen Mansion. at this point she remained hesitant about reuniting with her family, unsure of how they'd receive her.
Sara was formally introduced to John Diggle & reunited with winn schott after an attack by a member of the league. It's here that she discloses her past affiliation with the League of Assassins & the looming threat of their relentless pursuit.

Concerned about potential repercussions, the choice was made to protect the entire Lance family. However, Quentin dismissed winn's warnings about looming danger & sara finally deemed it necessary to reveal herself to her father.
Sara takes her dad to her hideout, only to be ambushed by Al-Owal & two members of the league. sara eventually kills Al-Owal & spares one assassin to deliver a message to Ra's : her family was off-limits.
Deciding to draw the League's attention away from her friends & family, she says goodbye to her father, getting him to keep her survival a secret from Laurel & her mother.
Several months passed before oliver reached out to her, urging her to intervene in laurel's downward spiral. That night, Sara visited Laurel at her apartment, only for Laurel to suddenly pass out & have to be rushed to the hospital. Despite this & Oliver's pleas, Sara contemplated leaving again.
later, while walking the streets, she runs into Nyssa al Ghul, who begs her to return. sara, struggling with the truth, finally reveals that she can't take the killing anymore & asked Nyssa to release her. After a heated conversation, she makes it clear she can't revert to her old life & urges Nyssa to act as she saw fit.
Returning to the bunker, she learns that Laurel's condition wasn't due to an overdose but rather a poisoning orchestrated by Nyssa to lure her back to the city. Sara & Oliver set out to confront Nyssa, only to find that she's abducted her mom, giving her 24-hours to either rejoin the League or live without her mom.

after a few hours she decides to surrender to the league, but instead of yielding to them, she poisons herself with Tibetan pit viper venom. As Nyssa returns Dinah to Quentin, Sara collapses. Rushing to her side, Oliver counteracts the poison, causing her to regain consciousness & gasp for air. she again asks Nyssa to release her, prompting her to tearfully free her from the League. Shortly after, her parents arrive with Laurel, who gets a glimpse of her sister for the first time in almost ten years.
awhile later in laurel's apartment, the happy reunion she'd hoped for shattered when Laurel rebuffed her efforts to mend their relationship. Hurt by her absence & lack of communication, she lashed out, & kicked her out of her apartment. Overwhelmed with guilt, sara attempts to apologize but is forced out the door when her sister throws a glass at her.
the rest of this timeline is spent working alongside team arrow in their efforts to take down slade & his army of mirakuru soldiers. she gets romantically involved with oliver for a short period of time before submitting to her commitment issues & breaking things off.
towards the end of may 2014 sara, in her pursuit to end slade wilson once & for all, returned to nanda parbat to ask for the league's assistance. after gaining their commitment they return to starling to help the team bring down slade. she leaves home afterward, looking to travel with her newfound freedom & restore the pieces of her soul that she lost.
sara returns in october 2014 & meets up with Laurel, pleading with her not to tell their dad she was home. after a brief exchange she leaves, leaving sara alone on a rooftop where she was confronted by a hooded figure. Before she could react, three arrows hit her in the chest. she plummeted from the roof, succumbing to her injuries upon impact with the alley below.

This period proves particularly challenging as she grapples with her bloodlust, embarking on international travels in a bid to tame it before returning home. While the events of arrow are recognized in this storyline, they don't significantly influence Sara or her decisions ( save the death of her sister which prompts her return ).
